June has come!

I remember several months ago, actually, since I got back from the mission, thinking that I could only see my life until June...after that, I had no idea what was going to happen.  Since then, I've been making plans, exploring options, and doing everything I can to make my dreams come true.  Now it's June, and basically everything I had planned until now has happened, and many things have fallen into place a lot easier than I thought they would.
So from now on out....I still don't know a lot about what is in store!  My fall semester plans are contingent upon the grade I get in my calculus class for spring term.  The rest of my summer is all planned out, basically down to the hours and minutes!!  In less than two weeks, I'll be on my way back to Brazil.  I will spend 33 days there, visiting the mission and mission friends.  When i come back, I'll get to see my whole family (well, except for Steven who just recently left on his mission), and then I'll have two weeks of geology field camp, and THEN...well, then fall classes begin again!
But it is interesting to see how things have unfolded and worked themselves out over the past several months.  I'm sure as this summer goes on, I will have a few important things to write more about in here, but for now..... don't hold your breath, because it could be a while til I'm back to write more. :)
I love seeing how the Lord answers my prayers through feelings I get, visions of my future, and especially through helping me iron out the wrinkles in my plans.  I often think that if what I am doing were not right, everything would not be falling so easily into place!!! I know that I have and always will have challenges, but I also know that as i let the Lord guide me, my burdens will become light, and I will be able to get through any rough spot with His help!!!!  I am so grateful for the knowledge I have of His perfect gospel!

Shades of Gray

Sometimes you think you've seen and heard it all. You look back on your life and think, "wow, I've been through everything." And you realize that you've been friendless, lost people close to you to the dreaded cancer, pretty much failed a class, missed work entirely, didn't know how you were going to pay your bills, been rejected by people you liked, felt lost and aimless, been rejected twice from the dream you've been dreaming, had the car die on you more times than you can count, and the list goes on. On the other hand, you've got amazing friends, the gospel in life, a positive and optimistic outlook, had the opportunity to be an EFY counselor, have an amazing family, travelled a ton, finally found what you want to do with your education, and the list goes on longer than the first. And then you think, again, "wow, I really HAVE been through everything!" And you think you know how to deal with anything that might come your way, because ...

Oh Happy Day!

The end of an era

So in about an hour and a half, I'll take my last final at BYU until after my mission! Exciting! Bittersweet. This week has had a lot of ups and downs already. It's never easy saying goodbye, but it's harder knowing I won't just come back in September and see everyone again. Today was my last day on the job at Heritage Halls. Thursday will be my last day on the job at BYUB. Tiff and James both leave tomorrow, and Hilary and Courtney both left today. Alex left yesterday, so...after tomorrow I need to find people to play with that I don't normally play with. Oh well. On Sunday, I went over to Courtney's and Hilary's place, and we had a last hurrah before Steph left for home on Monday. She goes to Jerusalem next week! Saturday evening, I went to Salt Lake and met up with Emma Koller there, one of my good friends that I met at EFY when I was 14, and haven't seen her since...4 or 5 years ago! So it was awesome to see her and meet her boyfriend! ...
