Spinning and Spinning until too dizzy to NOT spin!

Life is wonderful! I'm in love! With country dancing....hahahahaha. But for real. Last night, I went to swing club, and ended up dancing with a guy in my math class (random...but brings a whole new perspective to math class now!). He was really good, and we danced a lot, and I decided the best workout is just to go country/swing dancing. I am trying to find someone to go with tonight, down at the Center. I think I'm realizing that I'm leaving in 3 1/2 weeks, and I definitely shoulda gone dancing long before now, seeing as I won't really have the chance back home! Sad day. So now I'm just going to go every chance I get. Next week, though, we have a country dance lab, so I won't get to go to swing club. But that'll be fine, because it'll be awesome nonetheless. Maybe I'll get to go to both!

As for school...this week has actually been pretty relaxing. My math test last weekend was the last test I had to take before finals. I've got a paper due in two weeks, but since i have so much time, it's like no stress. I just have small homework assignments from here on out. I'm almost done with those two...only one more in D&C and only two more in geology! Hard to believe the end is so near, and honestly, it brings with it mixed feelings. I'm excited to go home, but sad to be leaving my friends here. I think it probably won't sink in again until I'm home in September, though, because that'll be the first September since I was like 3 that I wasn't in school. WHOA, I just realized that! That's awesome/crazy!!!

Today I am going to a math lecture. Yeah, you read that right. Oh the things I'll do just to get an extra credit point! It actually looks pretty interesting...it's about a game of dice that teaches probability. So I figure, if I figure it out at this lecture, I'll just go to Vegas, strike it rich, and then retire by the time I'm 25. so yeah, that's good, right? :)

  1. Dancing again? Sheesh, reading these posts one would thing your life is just one big dance! ;-)

I'm glad school is better for you. And I remember how it felt the first September I was on my way to work when all the kids were lining up for the school bus. I didn't go right to college and that was the weirdest feeling.

And about the Las Vegas thing... uhhhhh, I don't think that's a good idea with your mission plans. You know?

Shades of Gray

Sometimes you think you've seen and heard it all. You look back on your life and think, "wow, I've been through everything." And you realize that you've been friendless, lost people close to you to the dreaded cancer, pretty much failed a class, missed work entirely, didn't know how you were going to pay your bills, been rejected by people you liked, felt lost and aimless, been rejected twice from the dream you've been dreaming, had the car die on you more times than you can count, and the list goes on. On the other hand, you've got amazing friends, the gospel in life, a positive and optimistic outlook, had the opportunity to be an EFY counselor, have an amazing family, travelled a ton, finally found what you want to do with your education, and the list goes on longer than the first. And then you think, again, "wow, I really HAVE been through everything!" And you think you know how to deal with anything that might come your way, because ...

Oh Happy Day!

So today I got and opened my mission call! I'm going to the Brazil Sao Paulo East Mission. I'll be speaking Portuguese. I report to the Brazil MTC on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!

The end of an era

So in about an hour and a half, I'll take my last final at BYU until after my mission! Exciting! Bittersweet. This week has had a lot of ups and downs already. It's never easy saying goodbye, but it's harder knowing I won't just come back in September and see everyone again. Today was my last day on the job at Heritage Halls. Thursday will be my last day on the job at BYUB. Tiff and James both leave tomorrow, and Hilary and Courtney both left today. Alex left yesterday, so...after tomorrow I need to find people to play with that I don't normally play with. Oh well. On Sunday, I went over to Courtney's and Hilary's place, and we had a last hurrah before Steph left for home on Monday. She goes to Jerusalem next week! Saturday evening, I went to Salt Lake and met up with Emma Koller there, one of my good friends that I met at EFY when I was 14, and haven't seen her since...4 or 5 years ago! So it was awesome to see her and meet her boyfriend! ...
