So I'm Not Afraid of Cows, but They go Running from Me!

So this week was another week of the mission sao paulo leste! We had our Christmas conference, a surprise 2-day division, and a ton of other stuff. Here's the lowdown... Last Tuesday was our christmas conference. All the missionaries here in the interior were there to play games and eat and talk with president and learn together. We played a ton of games...like, dodgeball, capture the flag, missionary tag, 3-legged race, and a few others. It was so awesome, and it got pretty violent at times....well, I guess that's to be expected with a ton of elders! Hahaha. And we saw President in shorts and a t-shirt. And he wouldn't let us take pictures, so that's something you will all never see. If you know him, you know that he is Portuguese, and is ALWAYS with a tailored suit. So to see him running around in bermudas was quite the sight! It was great. We learned a ton with him also, during his brief messages. We watched "Joy to the World", listened to some fabulous H...

When I was Little, I Always Wanted a Summer Birthday!

Hey everyone! This week was basically stellar. Of course it had its challenges, but that is a part of life. And challenges are just opportunities to grow, and proofs of how much the Lord trusts us. But here it goes...... We are doing things a little differently now....because Christmas is coming and everyone is a little happier with Christmas, we are knocking doors by singing Christmas hymns. It is awesome, and a lot more people are opening their doors than I am used to! We have a good sized teaching pool now, and that will hopefully continue to grow this week and next, and we are looking forward to baptizing this month! Unfortunately, Aline and Mayara will not be baptized right now...it's going pretty roughly with them, but I know that all will be worked out in the end, one way or another. The Lord has plans, and we do our part, and then it is up to them to decide what to do. Oh, this week it poured! We got so drenched...it was hilarious! So of course we took pictures...:) Spe...

It's All Downhill from Here...

Well, big changes. And not nearly how I thought they'd be! First of all, yesterday marked 9 months in the mission for me, and since I'm a sister, that's half a mission that hsa already passed by. It kind of amazes me that I'm still surviving! Second of all, last Monday, we got the transfer call. That was a surprise phone call...remember how I said that President told us that I'd be leaving my beloved Vista Verde? Well, the call came and EVERYONE was surprised. Sister Gubler would be leaving, and I'd be staying here. And even more than that, I'd be training a greenie. We stopped where we were in the street and busted up laughing. Then cried. Then called a different leader who told us the same thing. Then we ran home to start packing Sister Gubler's stuff, and we ran off to visit a bunch of people. Everyone was surprised by the news. We had a family home evening at NĂ©ia's house, and she'd made a birthday cake for me. So at least Sis. Gubler and I...
