Good Thing the First Word of Portuguese I Learned was "Encandor"

Wow, this week was excellent! I don't even have a ton of time to write about everything I wanted to...but I'll do my best to squeeze in as much as possible right now in the short minutes I have! Our LMA (ward mission leader) is awesome, and he knocked some doors, made contacts, and set up some appointments for us in our specific area, which was awesome. We visited one of them yesterday, and she is fantastic. I have a lot of hope for her and her husband. And also, yesterday, someone showed up at Church that I have not seen or talked to for about a month. Pedro is someone I found knocking doors with Sister Sodré...about a month and a half ago. In the end, nothing happened with him...until he randomly showed up in church yesterday! That was such a blessing, and a miracle! I was so happy to see him there! All our investigators who were supposed to go to church yesterday bailed, probably because it was raining, but Pedro showed up, and also Lucas, who appeared out of nowhere. Too ba...

Our Toilet Leaks More Water than there was Oil in the Great Valdez Oil Spill!

Anyway, so here I am in your language now. I have learned that when you get a really good comp, who is your bff, life is so much better, and it's not hard to be with that person all the time. But when it's harder...it's really hard. Haha. But life is rockin' awesome right now! SO here's where the email really starts now. Ummm....first, let me explain the subject line, cuz it's kind of a ridiculous story. So, when I got here two months ago, our toilet was broken. NO big deal....we talked with the bishop, with the secretaries, and figured out what we had to do....the only thing is, we never did it. And it has just gotten worse, and it leaks water everywhere all the time. There is no stopping it. So we talked with the...

You Know You're Tired When You Dream About Sleeping!

HELLLOOOOOOOOOO world!!!!!! So. Here's the news that's a week old now, but you don't know yet....I was not transferred! QUE BÊNÇÃO!!!!!!! I love this area and did not want to be transferred, but as I mentioned, I did need a change and was prepared for whatever the Lord had in store for me. So, now I'm here in Vista Verde with Sister Gubler. She's from Las Vegas...yeah, it's a surprise that President put two Americans together (of the 17 Sisters in the mish, only 6 are Americans), but I'm super stoked about it. We are working super hard, walking way more than last transfer, and my comp is awesome. I love her so much! We have a ton of fun together, but we also work hard together. She's got 5 months left in the mish, but is still just as motivated as anyone at the beginning. So we are working hard. My body is aching, but it feels SO GOOD to be working hard again! So so good. so expect some blessings, cuz I have complete faith in the promise that the Lord b...

6 Months and I'm Still Alive!!

Well my dears, Yesterday marked 6 months in the mish for me. I've been in Brazil for 6 months. If I were an Elder, I would've burned a tie. But since I am a sister and I only have one tie, I didn't burn it. Also, it means that 1/3 of my mission is already gone. So you want the news of the week? Well, today (in 3 or 4 hours) we will find out who will be transferred, who will stay, etc. I'm really anxious, as usual, but I'm praying I will stay here in Vista Verde. I love this area more than words can describe, and this ward is a part of me. I don't want to change just yet...there is so much potential here, and I want to see this area really blossom. I have a sinking feeling though, that I'm gonna leave. But I know nothing about these things, so who knows really. Just President and the Assistants right now. It's interesting, because we don't have interviews with President anymore, so the transfers depend on the Zone Leaders...fortunately I am good fr...
