Onward, ever onward.

Today has been busy, just as every other day this week...month...year. But it's a good kind of busy. Well, until calculus comes into the picture! It never ceases to amaze me how random things go through my head. Like... I'll have trains of thoughts that make zero sense whatsoever to anyone but myself. And other times, random thoughts come into my head. My brain is weird, I think.

Today I was sitting in the library doing math homework, trying to understand how letters and numbers are all the same, and how math is real (I think it's all made up...who needs it, anyway?! math people, don't answer that!), and taking like 10 years on each of my homework problems (which I still haven't finished...). I have a paper for D&C due on Monday, and I've been trying to come up with ideas for it, and I've been coming up blank for a week and a half now. It's frustrating. Anyway, as I was sitting there doing math, the answer popped into my head, and I dumped my math stuff in my bag and ran to the No Shh Zone, got a computer, and started the word vomit. And I think it's a good idea...I just don't know how to write in this style, as I've never done it before. So I think I'm going to just write a really rough draft before the weekend, and then edit all weekend long. Okay, so probably just Saturday at work, and then again Monday morning. But I'm excited, because this could turn out to be a really great paper if I can get it to sound the way it does in my head!

In geology today, we talked about glaciers and Alaska and glaciers and Alaska and...yeah, I'm wicked excited to go there in 2 months! I've found a ton to do in Anchorage, and I'm solidifying hotel plans for that, and next I'll move on to Denali, at least as far as hotels go. I need to book those ASAP cuz a lot are already sold out. Fortunately, I'm going as cheap as possible, so the cheap, crappy ones still have vacancy! :)

Well, I'm off. I've got a ton of homework to do, a real journal to write in, and plans to go watch the Office with Alex and his roommates and their friends!

    Your brain is NOT weird... mine does that, too. So maybe it's just inherited!

    And I'm wicked excited for Alaska, too! Need to start thinking about what to pack, and what to bring to do on the train, and where to get more memory cards, cheap... and buy the camcorder battery charger, and...and...and...YAY!!!!

...in this case, it is not the question but rather the answer. 10 Things I love about Hannaford

So originally I was going to do this in sarcasm...but then decided that I could actually come up with 10 things (in no specific order) I like about my job. Even though being a cashier at a grocery store is not ideal, it's a job, and...well, you'll see. 1. Going on break with my dad sometimes. Because, you know, we work in the same store. It's pretty cool. 2. I love the people I work with soooooo much! Mainly the ones during the day, because I don't know any of the high school kids that work evenings, because I rarely work evenings. 3. Being the "party animal". nuff said. 4. Watching a cashier ID someone for alcohol, and him telling us that he doesn't even have a photo ID since his license was taken away for DWI. Yeah, maybe he should rethink his purchase... 5. Shades of Gray

Sometimes you think you've seen and heard it all. You look back on your life and think, "wow, I've been through everything." And you realize that you've been friendless, lost people close to you to the dreaded cancer, pretty much failed a class, missed work entirely, didn't know how you were going to pay your bills, been rejected by people you liked, felt lost and aimless, been rejected twice from the dream you've been dreaming, had the car die on you more times than you can count, and the list goes on. On the other hand, you've got amazing friends, the gospel in life, a positive and optimistic outlook, had the opportunity to be an EFY counselor, have an amazing family, travelled a ton, finally found what you want to do with your education, and the list goes on longer than the first.
