Math Test!

So last night was eventful and yet uneventful at the same time. How does that work? WELL... Alex came to visit for a few minutes around 6:45, and then Spencer came over around 7:15. He helped me with studying for my math test, and now I think I understand at least some of it a little better. Some of it I will probably never understand. But in the 2 hours Spencer was here, we got through quite a lot, and I just have to look it over today before I go to take the test in an hour or so. But I'm actually feeling pretty okay about the test. Anyway, after Spencer left, I ran up to the testing center to meet Jess, who was taking a test. We were going to see a movie at 10, over at the dollar theater. So after her test, we started walking. We got there in about a half hour (2.5 miles) and found out the movie was completely sold out! Bummer. Well, Jess hadn't eaten dinner, so we went over to Zupas, getting there just minutes before it closed, and she got some food. And then we walked all the way back. And that's about as exciting as my night was last night!

Today my plans include reviewing for and taking my math test, then going to see MacBeth with Tiff and Jo. Then I'm going country dancing tonight! Woohoo!!! My whole class, as well as the other country dance classes, are all going to this one place on Freedom and 5th, and it is normally crowded anyway, but now it'll be even more so!! But i'm really excited for it. I need to go to Nashville again. I've said it before, and I'm saying it again. I loved it there!

Okay, gotta go. Mail packages and study and test-take. WHAT FUN!

  1. Spencer Fields? Is he your math tutor? If so, that is pretty cool, and tell him I said hi and Daddy misses their philosophical discussions. Sorry your night didn't work out. And how was country dancing?

10 Things I love about Hannaford

So originally I was going to do this in sarcasm...but then decided that I could actually come up with 10 things (in no specific order) I like about my job. Even though being a cashier at a grocery store is not ideal, it's a job, and...well, you'll see. 1. Going on break with my dad sometimes. Because, you know, we work in the same store. It's pretty cool. 2. I love the people I work with soooooo much! Mainly the ones during the day, because I don't know any of the high school kids that work evenings, because I rarely work evenings. 3. Being the "party animal". nuff said. 4. Watching a cashier ID someone for alcohol, and him telling us that he doesn't even have a photo ID since his license was taken away for DWI. Yeah, maybe he should rethink his purchase... 5. Now when I hear the name of a vegetable, I automatically think of its PLU. Dates: 3047. Cabbage: 4069. Bananas: 4011. Tree Ripe Peaches: 4044. Eastern Peaches: 4403. Nectarines: 4378....

Shades of Gray

Sometimes you think you've seen and heard it all. You look back on your life and think, "wow, I've been through everything." And you realize that you've been friendless, lost people close to you to the dreaded cancer, pretty much failed a class, missed work entirely, didn't know how you were going to pay your bills, been rejected by people you liked, felt lost and aimless, been rejected twice from the dream you've been dreaming, had the car die on you more times than you can count, and the list goes on. On the other hand, you've got amazing friends, the gospel in life, a positive and optimistic outlook, had the opportunity to be an EFY counselor, have an amazing family, travelled a ton, finally found what you want to do with your education, and the list goes on longer than the first. And then you think, again, "wow, I really HAVE been through everything!" And you think you know how to deal with anything that might come your way, because ...

Rocks Rock!

So just out of curiosity, and because I had a couple minute before I have to head to work, I went on ebay and searched for a rock hammer. They are way cheaper than I thought they'd be! One of these days, I'm going to invest in a good one. But probably not until post-mission, as I technically won't need it until then anyway. Unless for some reason I take it to Alaska...hmm.... idears! Anyway, I took a geology test today, and it was a breeze. I love having a 4-credit class that I love and have an A in...partially because I love it, and partially because it takes some stress off of my math class, because this will balance it out. Though I'm not doing as badly in math as I thought I was! But i guess we'll see how this next test goes, which I think I am going to take on Saturday. It's going to be a busy weekend! James and I have quite the adventure planned for Saturday evening...just wait for pictures :) I hope it works out, because it'll be a hoot! ...
